ENVIRONMENT

In compliance with community and national standards that regulate environmental issues, the Port Authority of Genoa organises the following activities through the Environment and Port Work Department.

Air sector

The various tasks of the Port Authority of Genoa include:

• environmental protection of the surrounding port environment, developing tools that can be used to safeguard the territory in compliance with environmental laws and standards;


• collection management organisation of port wastes produced on shore and on board ships,


• environmental improvement and clean-up development of areas affected by pollution also by building waste disposal plants;
• dissemination of information through environmental training courses for port workers.
